Alliance Training Programme

Humber Men in Sheds Alliance Training Programme

 Following the discussion at our Humber Men in Sheds Alliance meeting we have sourced training on the subjects that sheds indicated would be of interest to them.

As the sessions are not going to be recorded, we would encourage shed representatives to take up the opportunities to attend the sessions. 

All sessions will be delivered on ZOOM so if assistance is required to access Zoom please contact us prior to the event so that assistance can be provided.

 

Date:  Wednesday 10 March 10am-11.30

Subject: Governance

Deliver by: East Riding Voluntary Action Services (ERVAS)

The course will cover the following:

  • Status and Legal entity
  • Trustee roles and Responsibilities
  • Overview of managing an organization.
  • Question and answer session

 

Date: Tuesday 16 March 10am-11.30

Subject: Your Guide to Grants

Deliver by: East Riding Voluntary Action Services (ERVAS)

This course will cover the basics of searching for funding, getting ‘fit for funding’ and applying for grants. The emphasis of the training is to allow participants to get ready to apply for funding from Trusts and Foundations.

 

Course aims:

  • To provide an overview of the types of grant funding.
  • To show you where and how to look for grant funding.
  • To help you get ‘fit for funding’.
  • To outline the basics of applying for grant funding.

 

Date: Thursday 18 March 10am-12

Subject: A guide to Health & Safety & Insurance compliance for sheds

Delivered by John Carlin -Groundworks

 

Date: Thursday 15 April 21 10am-12

Subject: A guide to shed security

Delivered by Lee Fuller Humberside Police

 

In addition to the above training events the Alliance has sourced Mental Health Training that will be delivered by MIND. However, to run this course we would need a minimum of five sheds to attend. Each shed will be allocated with one free place with additional places available at a cost of £15 per person.

Subject: Identifying the signs and symptoms of the most common mental health issues.

Delivered by MIND North Lincolnshire.

This course is certificated and will cover the following:

  • The concept of mental health
  • Risk and protective factors of mental health
  • How we can look after our mental health
  • Support and local services available
