Community Development Foundation

New Start for Spring 2022 – Let's Go

As many people are now emerging from the long hibernation brought about by covid and a frosty winter our thoughts turn to what we can go out and do.

Many voluntary and community groups have been providing far less activities than before but NOW is the time for rebuilding capacity and introducing new provision.

In June there is the Queens Platinum Jubilee to celebrate so have a look at the Lincolnshire Community Development Foundation that has funding available until the end of February for celebration events.

Many of you have gardens and planters outside your premises so give some thought on what you can do here. Plant some summer bulbs, make a bee friendly area, plant a tree, or decorate your planters, paint your benches or if you have nothing yet outside how about starting a project there?

Easter will soon be here so perhaps you could have an Easter egg hunt and craft sessions where you can bring people together. Coffee, tea, and cakes are always popular to attract people in especially if you have some entertainment, music etc.

The pandemic has shown how valuable time with friends and family is to our wellbeing as well as the need for strong caring communities where we can enjoy activities. The voluntary and community sector has so many wonderful projects so let us work together and help North Lincolnshire and the people here to have an area we are proud to be a part of.

Tribune Trust

The Tribune Trust is a registered charity that makes grants to help groups and communities reduce crime and make their areas safer. The Trustees are especially keen to support initiatives involving young people. We are actively seeking applications from North and North East Lincolnshire as this area has been under-represented in the grant-making in the last few years.  If you click here, you will see the examples of the type of thing we fund and links to the very simple application form.

High Sheriff Award

High Sheriff Award – as High Sheriff I am able to make a special award to people or organisations that have made an exceptional contribution to their community and county. It is a way of bringing some recognition to some of the unsung heroes and in turn, inspiring others to emulate or support these amazing role models. I am especially looking out for awardees in North Lincs and hope that you might know of/be able to help me find some special people who would be deserving of such recognition.
